It’s pretty late in the day when I work up the courage to enter the library. I do a once around looking for the librarian that asked me to leave last night. Don’t see her. Good. I sit down at a computer and sign onto Gmail.

I love a man of his word. I have three emails, two from Marci, and one from Derek:

Hi,

I should have taken your advice on the paper. I went to bed and when I woke up your email was all smudged. I hope this goes through. If not, I’ll be spending lots of time at the donut shop or patrolling DU.

It was nice talking to you. You seem very different from most girls I meet. You’re very down to earth. Not self absorbed. Let me know where you want to go on Sunday. I’ll need your address to pick you up. Don’t worry. I won’t be pulling up in a squad car. I’ll be in my fashionable 12 year old Dodge Neon. You’re not the only one who is poor. But it seems like that’s OK with both of us. : )
